Hotel Review: Conrad Las Vegas At Resorts World

August 30, 2021

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. “Sin City” is constantly reinventing itself with new resorts, attractions, and entertainment. Luring tourists back time after time, myself included. The outdated casinos and resorts are remodeled, rebranded, or completely knocked down to make way for their modern and chic predecessors.

The much anticipated Resorts World is Hilton’s latest addition to The Strip. It cost an estimated $4.3 billion to construct, making it the most expensive resort development in Las Vegas to date. Once the location for the infamous Stardust Hotel is now the address for Resorts World. The tower includes a Hilton, Conrad, and Crockfords hotel, all under one roof.

The resort officially opened on June 24th, 2021, and we were lucky to stay at the brand-new Conrad a few weeks later. Keep reading along for my full review of our stay at the Conrad Las Vegas.

Overview

Location: Las Vegas Strip

Hotel Rating: 5 stars

Average Price Per Night: ($$) 200 +

Best for: Family, Couple, Friends

Website: Conrad Las Vegas

Booking

It’s easy to book your stay at the Conrad using Hilton’s website with either money or points. If using money, there are multiple rates offered, depending on the level of flexibility you prefer. With points, a standard room rate is 80,000 points per night. Both formats of payment still require a $45 resort charge per night.

We booked our stay using my Hilton Aspire Credit Card. One of the card’s benefits is a $250 resort statement credit that can be used for eligible purchases at any Hilton resort. Conrad Las Vegas being one of them. Fees associated with booking a room are eligible under this statement credit. In our case, the statement credit covered the cost for one night.

There are many great benefits to using the Hilton Aspire credit card when booking. If you’re new to points and miles and want to learn more, check out my detailed blog post here.

Location (3.5/5)

Resorts World is conveniently located on the north end of the Las Vegas strip. If you’re flying into McCarren International Airport, a taxi ride from there will take approximately 15-20 minutes.

It is close to the Wynn, Encore, and Circus Circus hotels. While the resort is located on the strip, I would say walking anywhere is not ideal. There’s not much within a comfortable walking distance, especially in the Las Vegas heat.

Right now, this end of the strip is underdeveloped when compared to the south end. There’s currently a lot of construction adjacent to the resort. But give it a few years, and I believe this will be the exciting side of the strip to be on.

Rooms (3.5/5)

As a brand new resort and a Conrad at that, I had high expectations for the rooms. Since we booked with points, we reserved their base level, Premium Room – One King Bed. As a Hilton Honors member with Diamond tier status, I was hoping for an upgrade, but unfortunately, there were issues with their system at check-in. More on that in the service section of this post.

The room decor was chic and modern, with accents of red throughout. While everything in the room was literally brand new, my initial impression was somewhat disappointing. No “WOW” factor set it apart from other luxury resorts I’ve stayed at on the strip. Although I recognize we were in the base-level room, I’ve read similar feedback from other reviews regardless of the room.

The bathroom is pleasantly spacious, with tons of bright lighting. My favorite part was the large mirror with the accent LED light, perfect for getting ready. I appreciate the hotel’s effort to minimize single-use plastics by having refillable containers for the soaps in the shower and sink. They all come in the iconic luxury scent Mojave Ghost by Byredo.

Amenities (4.5/5)

The amenities at Resorts World are truly where they shine. As suggested by the name, there’s a world of things to do, leaving guests not much reason to venture out elsewhere.

Spa & Fitness

Unfortunately, the spa had not opened during our stay, so I can’t speak to their services. It is set to open in Fall 2021.

As for the fitness center, it has all the latest technology and workout equipment you need. We didn’t have a chance to use it during our stay, but it looks better than my local gym membership.

Pool

The pool area is shared among the three hotels at Resorts World. They are said to have the largest pool complex on the strip, with 7 different pools. There’s something for everyone, from a kid’s area to the adult-only infinity pool overlooking the strip. From the pool, you can enjoy the 100,000 square-foot LED screen scaling the side of a tower.

The infinity pool is where we spent our time. There’s an outdoor bar to order drinks, or if you manage to land a pool chair or cabana, you can get drinks or food brought right to you. The infinitely pool currently overlooks a construction zone and the new Ayu Dayclub in the distance. While the view below is not aesthetically, I’m sure it will be in the next few years.

Food & Drink

There is no shortage of drink or dining options here. The food scene pulls inspiration from the night markets and hawker centers known throughout Southeast Asia. From casual quick bites to fine dining experiences. Check out the Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge for unique drinks, or head to the 66th floor for a more intimate experience at the Starlight Lounge.

Make sure to check out their Famous Foods Streat Eats. You’re in for a cultural experience that transports you to an Asian night market with various food vendors to choose from. Offering both modern fusion and traditional cuisines.

The ” On the Fly ” app powered by GrubHub made ordering food here and anywhere else on the resort’s ground easy. Download the app using the QR code provided with your room key and enter your room and card information. The app uses your location to deliver your food and can even be used near the pool.

In the Famous Foods area, there are even tablets you can order from. Many people did not realize this, so this is a quick way to bypass the lines. Once your food is ready, you’ll receive a text message that your food is ready for pick up.

Casino

What is a Vegas resort without its quintessential casino full of neon lights?

The one at Resorts World is expansive, with many games and tables to choose from. All the areas are thoughtfully decorated with Art Deco and eclectic patterns.

I’m personally not a gambler, so I don’t have much

Shopping

Moreover, if you happen to get lucky in the casino, you can take your winnings to “The District “to splurge on yourself. The District is Resorts World’s retail mall strategically located next to the casino. At the time of our stay, not all stores had opened yet, but there are plans to have stores that fit every budget.

Night Life

With the opening of Resorts World are two highly anticipated clubs, Ayu Dayclub and Zouk Nightclub.

Zouk Nightclub was not open yet during our visit, but we did have a chance to visit Ayu for an evening event. Guestlist or tickets are required for entry, so be sure to plan ahead as it gets busy.

I was quite surprised by how small Ayu was and the number of people they could pack in there. There was not much standing area unless you got bottle service. The pool was tiny, like a kiddy pool, and I can’t imagine what it looks like during the day parties.

Drinks are normal Vegas prices (expensive). I would recommend pregaming in your room or buying a large souvenir cup with your preferred drink to avoid multiple trips to the bar as it gets packed.

Since it was the middle of summer, it was hot all evening outside. Honestly, I don’t think I’d return here for a day or evening event. There are so many better options on the Las Vegas strip. I’d instead recommend XS at Encore, which has an outdoor/indoor space and a large pool to hang by.

Service (4/5)

Being a new property, we expected things may not go smoothly.

The check-in process took extremely long due to their computer system not working properly. As diamond-level Hilton Honors members, one benefit is receiving a room upgrade depending on availability. Knowing there was space for an upgrade, we requested one, but they were, unfortunately, unable to reassign rooms in their system. To make amends, they provided us with a $50 resort credit instead.

Besides the hiccup at check-in, the service we experienced at the Conrad and Resorts World was exceptional.

Value (3.5/5)

Overall, I would say the Conrad Las Vegas is a decent value. The resort was thoughtfully designed and provides tourists with an elevated experience in all areas. However, there are many comparable resorts on the strip for experience and price points if paying with money.

Nonetheless, if you’re a Hilton Honors member with status and possibly a Hilton Aspire Credit Card, this will significantly increase your value earned. You’ll get to take advantage of the resort credits and possibly a room upgrade (if the front desk can get their system to work).

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, Resorts World is an exceptional addition to the Las Vegas strip. It offers an array of amenities for family, friends, or even couples travel. They are taking strides to offer a modern guest experience. Although the property is still under construction in some areas, there’s still much to be enjoyed.

While there were some things I wasn’t impressed with, the amenities at Resorts World would bring me back for another stay. I would also be interested in staying in one of the other hotel towers for Hilton or Crockfords.
